More about the Macintosh Users Group of Stowe
The Macintosh Users Group of Stowe (MUGS) is one of 5 registered Apple Macintosh User Groups in Vermont. (The other four groups are listed and linked in a box on the Home Page.)
For detailed information about Macintosh Users Groups worldwide see www.apple.com/usergroups and www.mugcenter.com.
Each of these Users Groups provides an opportunity for people using Macintosh Operating Systems (Mac OS) to get together and share their knowledge and experience with others who are using the same computer operating system and often the same applications. It is both a learning opportunity for some and a teaching opportunity for others and often both for the same person. In addition to learning, teaching, and the opportunity to exchange information about their Macintosh experiences, the meetings can be and most often are a lot of fun.
MUGS meetings are held in the Stowe Elementary School and when the school is not open, in the Stowe Free Library Meeting Room. Eleven meetings are scheduled each year - usually the third Thursday of each month except for December.
MUGS now has in excess of 45 members including some who are computer hobbyists; others who are casual Mac users for email, word processing, or financial record keeping; and still others whose professional work is highly dependent on sophisticated Macintosh programs involving photography, art work, and desktop publishing.
MUGS has its own web site, www.mugstowe.org (you are now viewing one of its pages) and has a library of useful books and CD-ROMs that members can borrow. Members also benefit from door prizes, often available at meetings. Special discounts are offered to MUGS members from various Apple software an peripheral equipment suppliers, and the Apple MUG Store with special offerings is available to MUG members worldwide.
